Today and tomorrow...

Today, I did several firsts.
I went to Glasgow for the first time.
I met a movie star for the first time.
I had said movie star steal my popcorn.
To explain,
slaycandy told me last week about this film event happening today. A Kill Bill double bill with a Q&A session with David Carradine. So, I said "hell yes!" and tickets were booked.
We ended up going with
masofsuxor,
noir_guitarist and 3 of her friends. First off, we arrived in Glasgow. After getting to Glasgow, we went to Pizza Hut then the Odeon without meeting being assaulted by neds or meeting weejies. (shock horror, i know!)
At the Odeon, got in, waited a while and got into the screen :) We ended up in row A, right next to David Carradine (yay! hehehehe) and we asked questions, got them answered, got stuff signed, laughed with him, heard all the stuff not over the mic, etc.
After the Q&A session, went out to get drinks and popcorn, on the way back, I dropped my wallet, bent down to pick it up and when I stood back up, David Carradine was there, helping himself to my popcorn. :D One of the staff said to me: "You don;t give a shit do you?". I replied "Nope!" with a huge grin. :D
Then we watched KB 1&2 and got a lift home with Sage's parents (yay for free lifts).
And tomorrow, I'm going to have to spend the majority of the day coding (website for work and assignments) as well as getting the new contacts. I have lots of stuff to code for HWUSA, and lots of stuff to code for assignments and lots of stuff to write up for assignments. But I should be getting paid soon... I hope... And is it bad that I actually feel more comfortable coding my Turing Machine in anything except Java?

Date: 2005-11-05 04:34 pm (UTC)...no idea who you are or where I picked you up from - only that you claim to go to the same University as myself - but you added me to your friends list. Did you miss the "run away, this girl's a freak" button? Some people do that...you might have missed. Of course, you could have genuinely meant to add me *looks pitying and wonders if you know what you're doing*, in which case...hmmmm, I have nothing to say (for the first time this week).

Date: 2005-11-05 04:51 pm (UTC)Sorry if I offend you by not knowing who you are; unless I frequently engage in some sort of conversation or staring contest with a person I tend not to recall who they are. Aside from anything else: I haven't spoken to any small green men since, well, ever actually.
However, say hello...look interesting and I might put two-and-two together and get a Yoda.

Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 04:12 pm (UTC)Since everyone else on my list of "friends" are people I share a common interest with either in reality or unreality (most of them being budding writers looking for editorial help, a boyfriend or someone I spoke to briefly in an LJ community) I can't help but wonder what factual or fictional "thing" made you select me. Or is it simply a case of: "you go to HW, now you're on my hit list"? For the love of the gods don't tell me you want help with coding, because I don't do coding...I simply perform a complex ordering of chaos and hope like hell that it works when I'm done.
Of course, mostly I'm just bored, otherwise I probably wouldn't be going to all this effort and, likely, irritating you whilst you have coursework to do.
Re: Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 04:15 pm (UTC)plus, i know vaguely who you are which is a bonus.
Re: Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 04:33 pm (UTC)I'd bet £5 that you could walk up to me, spit it my eye and I wouldn't have a clue who you were...but I'd lose £5 and get spat in the eye, and none of that sounds like fun.
Re: Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 10:23 pm (UTC)well i vaguely know lots of people... normally they know me better.
vaguely can stretch to you're someone i recognise by name on the forums, someone who's sites i've looked at, etc...
i don't always put thought into my friends lists...
Re: Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 10:55 pm (UTC)I guess I can deal with having a random person hanging around. As long as you pick you pick your socks up and don't leave cigarette butts in the sink (don't ask...)
Re: Are you going to amuse me or not?
Date: 2005-11-09 11:29 pm (UTC)random conversations can happen - usually in the Union during the day...
